New Year, New You? Here’s What I Think…

There’s always so much around about the ‘new you’ at this time of year.

I have a different take on that.

I actually share this at the beginning of every new year, and wanted to share it with it you today as well.

There's no one else you need to be this year. No version of you, you have to go out and discover or “work” to become.

Can you feel the inherent judgement attached to that approach?

Instead, what I believe it’s more about is coming home to who you really are.

Our fear makes us believe if only we were to achieve the next level of success, or make more money, drop that last 5 or 10 kgs or have certain people approve of us, then we will be enough. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Once we are finally “there” then we can take a breath and relax and enjoy life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We can try to source our self worth (and our inner peace) in all of these places outside of us, in our achievements, in what we do, in what we are working towards, but it will never be enough

Nothing will satiate you (and change your life) like your own acceptance. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

When we heal the parts of us that are constantly seeking 'more', we discover this incredible freedom that comes from just being who we are. Right now.⠀

Rather than that pressuring yourself into some artificial mould of the 'new you' this year, allow yourself to rest back into 'true you’. The person you already are.

When you let that be enough, ironically that's when it's so much easier to step forward into the changes we seek for ourselves.

(Episode 1: How To Fully Commit To The Changes You Want  on my podcast goes into this more)

It's not about losing ambition and drive. It's about approaching the year from a place of sufficiency. When you make this shift, watch what magic unfolds as a result.
