Working From A State of Inner Rest

Bringing a lighter experience and energy into the way you work is about an inner rest as much as it is prioritising outer rest. 

 

 

By that I mean…When work feels stressful and hard we often focus on the outer stuff…

 

 

(E.g. exercising more, work boundaries, prioritising interests outside of work)

 

 

All of which are positive things to be doing, but are often only helpful to a point.  

We can do all of these outer things, yet still have a hustling energy in our bodies that comes from a mind that’s on edge, worried, doubtful and stressed.

I've done “the right thing”, by taking an afternoon off, or a long weekend to recharge, yet I still feel on edge. 

 

 

So how do we change that?

 

 

Working from a state of inner rest is about fundamentally changing how you think and the beliefs you hold.

 

 

When we know we are enough and the work we do is too, the mind feels like it’s safe to put work down and to switch off.

When we can create a felt sense of safety in the body, we don’t look to our next achievement or milestone at work to give that to us.

 

We can feel peaceful and at ease now.

I am more than enough for the work I do.

 

The more I believe in myself, the more peaceful I feel.
