It’s The Thing Under The Thing

Most of last weekend I felt mildly to severely frustrated and annoyed. Such a wonderful energy to be in for your first Mothers’ Day!

I thought it was the house mess. Tidied the house…didn’t go away

I thought I was needing some alone time. Had some alone time…didn’t go away.

Tried some of my usual tools for clearing emotions….but it still hung around - why?

It wasn’t until I stopped and asked myself: “What is this *really* about?”

….that the true source of my frustration appeared.

Often I find it’s the thing under the thing.

If something is circling for me and even if I try to clear it, it’s still there…it’s normally because I haven’t got to the second layer and uncovered what it’s really about.

Triggers around:

  • house mess

  • comments

  • bad driving

  • traffic

  • your husband breathing

…are often pointing us to a deeper feeling that’s needing to be acknowledged and processed.

If we can pause for a moment and get curious - it often rises to the top.

Then we can get to work, use our tools on the true source of the emotion and release it.

So the next time you’re getting annoyed at your husband for breathing (HA!)
