Waiting At The Starting Line

We’re 14 weeks into our renovation journey and almost about to move home - phew!At the beginning of the year, I put it out there for the Universe to connect us with a place to stay while we renovated.

A few options popped up, but both didn’t end up working out.

Then, we were connected with an opportunity to rent a Tiny House.

This is totally hilarious (I always believe that God/Spirit has a sense of humour)

I had been trying for months to get Ben across the line to buy and live in a Tiny House, but with no luck - so we ended up settling on renovating our place instead.

Now, it felt like we were being given an opportunity to ‘road test’ Tiny House living.

We've been super lucky to have had this place to stay in, but after:

  • 14 weeks

  • The onset of winter

  • And 1x first trimester of pregnancy

It’s fair to say we have drawn a line through Tiny House living in the future HA!

(Ben’s secretly pleased)

This got me thinking about the parallels between our foray into Tiny House living and trying new things in life.

So often, we’re waiting at the starting line for clarity. The mind wants the 10 step plan laid out in front of us, before we can step forward.

We want guarantees & want to know exactly how it’s going to play out before we take action.

One of my favourite quotes is by Marie Forleo who says “Clarity comes from action not thought”.

I could look at the thousands of dollars I spent on a University degree as a waste of money given I no longer work in a corporate role. Or the same for the Health Coaching certification I did when I don’t guide people on nutrition any longer. I have many examples of this in my life.

But I actually look at each of these things as part of the greater plan. They are all part of what has got me here to this point.

The only way we figure out whether a next step is right for us, is by taking action.

Sometimes that means you end up in a place that feels like a dead end or the mind labels it a “failure”.

But the way I see it, it's all a success.

….because it's giving you valuable feedback and clarity about where you actually want to be.

We don't get any of this clarity, by staying at step one.

So today, I invite you to look at:

Where you might be waiting for clarity on something - is there an action that's asking to be taken?

Remember action creates the clarity.

Also part of what makes it hard to step forward into the new, is a fear of being judged. I've just created a new podcast episode on this.
