Stepping Into The New

 

It's exciting when we think about the prospect of doing something new.

 

 

On one hand - there's the energy of possibility + all the good stuff that change can bring.

 

 

We want it, we're ready for it!

 

 

 

On the other hand - our mind really loves to stay where it's familiar, because it equates familiarity with safety.

 

 

 

We may find that the nervous system responds to this new opportunity, pathway, or potential next step in a number of ways that can feel frustrating (but are ultimately designed to protect us)

 

 

 

We may find we go into:

 

 

1. Flight response (busyness, raciness, future tripping, lots of thinking and overwhelm which creates confusion and second guessing)

 

 

2. Freeze response (procrastination, getting stuck on moving ideas forward, not placing ourselves in situations that move us forward)

 

 

3. Fight response (picking arguments in our mind, or with others)

 

 

4. Fawn response (saying yes, taking on too much of other people's stuff, overextending ourselves)

 

 

 

 

These are all responses from our mind and body about the uncertainty of the 'new thing'.

 

 

What you know & what's familiar, may feel safe on some level, but it can also become our stuck place.

 

 

 

When there's a yearning for change in our lives, we've got to learn how to move beyond these patterns.

 

 

 

A big part of this is intentional thought work.

 

What beliefs will support me to step into the new?

 

Belief work, runs as a continual theme throughout Working Lightly.  

 

> In our first session I'll be taking you through my Advanced Belief Clearing Exercise, a powerful clearing process to release old thinking that's been holding you back, so you can start to embody thoughts & beliefs that will support you to step out, take action & feel full of certainty as you do this.

 

 

 

Supporting Your Nervous System

 

Being aware of the way that your nervous system may be trying to protect you with patterns 

 

(like the one's I've mentioned above) 

 

+ knowing how to guide your body to safety, so you can gently release these patterns & step forward into what you desire. 

 

 

Safety is always what our mind/body/nervous system are seeking.

 

 

We can demonstrate to these parts of us that we are in fact safe, as we do new things.

 

 

We can show these parts that as you do new, stretchy things that feel outside of your comfort zone (and may feel a bit familiar), that there is a safe place to land and return to within yourself. 

 

 

> In our second month of Working Lightly, this is a big focus. You'll learn nourishing nervous system practices, and ways to work with these self protective parts, so they can get on board with the change you're creating in your life…which makes action taking sooo much easier.

 

 

When we feel safe in our bodies, we can take light, and consistent action towards what we want. 

 

 

(less of the two steps forward, 5 steps back kind of thing)

 

 

We can show up in the spaces that feel new, and know that we belong there, and rest in the safety we are creating within ourselves. 

 

 

> Inside Working Lightly, we meet live 3 x per month (plus having access to me + my coaching all through the week via our private messaging group) means you've got me beside you, helping you, guiding you to the next best actions and how you bring about change in your life & work in a calm and grounded way.
