Fear of failure? It’s likely to be more of a fear of success.
Many people I meet through my work can be holding themselves back because of what they perceive to be is a fear of failure.
They are afraid of stepping out and going for what they want….and then it not working out.
But if you dig a little deeper, what you’ll find is it’s actually more of a fear of success.
Yes, there’s always fear present when we step out to do new things and thoughts of “Will this work out?” are going to be there.
But what’s sitting underneath that and often has the most charge around it, is a fear of becoming successful and creating exactly what we want…and being judged for that.
This is even more prevalent for women….many of us are carrying fears around being judged by other women.
This runs really deep too.
If I’m being really honest with you, I still work on this one.
It’s been stirring within me recently, as I’m feeling myself stepping into a new level in my business and work.
I was in a Sound Healing class last night and our teacher brought this up too, so it feels like it’s hanging out in the collective right now, which is why I wanted to write to you today.
Here are my thoughts:
You don’t answer to other people at the end of your life, you answer to God / Universe / Source.
Are you honouring the unique gifts and talents that have been placed in you for this lifetime?
What’s most important is about fulfilling the unique mission and purpose for your life. This is not the path that other people think is acceptable. They aren’t privy to what feels right for you.
For this reason, it’s okay if they don’t get it.
Some friends may leave your life who don’t understand you or who feel triggered by your new level of authenticity, visibility and success.
That’s also okay, not every relationship is meant to be in your life forever.
Not every person is supposed to like you either.
Playing this game is fruitless. We have to be okay with people not liking us and not let this be an impediment to moving forward and doing what we want.
As long as you are being true to what’s in your heart, and you’re following what feels aligned for you, it doesn’t matter what others think.
You didn’t come into this life to do what will gain the most approval from others.
You came here to fulfil the mission and purpose of your Soul.
Honouring your path is what matters.
Doing what feels right and good to you is what matters.
Here are 2 questions I recommend you journal on:
Question 1: Where do you dilute your power / play small / hold back because you’re afraid of what others might think of you?
Question 2: What do you need to start doing to own your choices and decisions and stand in your power more fully?
It’s safe for you to stand out. It’s safe to be seen.
It’s safe for you to do your life, your way.
It’s safe for you to be successful.
